Notarized ID documents are certified by a notary public to validate their authenticity. This process involves the notary witnessing and documenting the signing of the documents, preventing fraud, and ensuring that the documents can be trusted by the relevant authorities who requested them.
This added layer of verification makes notarized documents essential for legal and official purposes, providing confidence in their legitimacy and the identity of the signatories. The notary's record of the notarization further bolsters the document's reliability, serving as evidence of its proper execution and validity.
A criminal record check will determine if you have been charged or convicted of a crime. If a name-based criminal record check does not provide a definite way of confirming your identity, you may be asked to provide fingerprints. The use of fingerprints is the most accurate way to confirm a person's identity. (Please bring two pieces of photo identification with you when requesting paper Ink Roll fingerprints).
FD-258 fingerprint card is used by FBI and police agencies for non-criminal fingerprinting. All data entered on fingerprint cards must be typewritten or legibly printed, using black or blue ink and must not exceed the boundaries of the designated field (block).
For the Identity History Summary Check, the FBI will accept FD-1164 fingerprint cards on standard white paper stock, but if you go to a private fingerprinting agency to be fingerprinted, they may prefer to use a fingerprint card on standard card stock. Our Fingerprint center (Kingsway Global ID) will provide the fingerprint card to our clients.
The FD-1164 has fewer questions and is the most recently created fingerprint card. You may either use the FD-258 or FD-1164 fingerprint card as FBI will be accepted both forms. (P.S.: FBI reserves the right to make changes.)
